Il corpo femminile tra normalizzazione e autodeterminazione nel romanzo Il giunco di Pia Rimini

This paper aims to investigate how the writer Pia Rimini offers, in her novel Il giunco (1930), an un-precedented representation of female subjectivi-ty, redefining the 20th-century novel-form with a perspective that questions and challenges the educational and formative limits of the period. Set in the context of the ‘normalisation’ of fe-male subjectivity, the novel renders the complex-ity of the protagonist's identity journey, marked by the conflict between the desire for self-determination and the drive towards social con-formity. This conflict, which remains unresolved, is articulated around themes little explored in the narrative of the time, such as the body and de-sire, which Rimini investigates by overcoming the self-censorship typical of the time, opening up new spaces for reflection on female education.

Il presente lavoro si propone di indagare come la scrittrice Pia Rimini offra, nel romanzo Il giunco (1930), una rappresentazione inedita della sog-gettività femminile ridefinendo la forma-romanzo Novecentesca con una prospettiva che interroga e sfida i limiti educativi e formativi del periodo. Inserito nel contesto della “normalizza-zione” della soggettività femminile, il romanzo restituisce la complessità del percorso identitario della protagonista, segnato dal conflitto tra la volontà di autodeterminazione e la spinta verso il conformismo sociale. Tale conflitto, che resta irri-solto, è articolato intorno a tematiche poco esplorate nella narrativa del tempo, come il cor-po e il desiderio, che Rimini indaga superando le autocensure tipiche dell'epoca aprendo nuovi spazi di riflessione sulla formazione femminile.
