Reparation, Taken to the Extreme

The aim of my paper is not to criticise reparation, but to take it to the extreme, to stress the concept in order to understand whether it still stands up to scrutiny. To this end, we will attempt to answer two questions. First question: Are the limits of narration the same limits of reparation? (and vice versa) Second question: Is it possible to repair everything? And is it possible to narrate what cannot be repaired?

Weak emergence and external relations

I shall argue that one necessary condition for entities to weakly emerge from their own emergence bases is that such bases include external relations. In Section 1 I shall introduce weak emergence and the distinction between internal and external relations, as well as three strategies to prove the externality of a relation. In Sections 2 and 3 I shall provide inductive support for my thesis by showing that several versions of weak emergentism entail that the emergence bases of weakly emergent...

Stroke Frequency Effects on Coordination and Performance in Elite Kayakers

Objectives: This study aimed to assess stroke coordination and biomechanics in elite U23 male kayakers under valid on-water conditions (instrumented K1 kayak on a competition lake) across race-relevant stroke frequencies (60, 80, and 100 strokes·min−1). Methods: To achieve our aims, twelve male athletes (age 21.00 ± 0.47 years) completed 500 m trials at three randomized paddle frequencies (60, 80, 100 strokes·min−1) with 10 min of passive recovery in-between. Data were collected with inertial...
