This paper illustrates the new discovery of a manuscript witness, unknown so far, of the Quaestio de adventu Christi by Nicholas of Lyra, held in Fermo, at the Biblioteca del Seminario Arcivescovile “F. De Angelis”. It is transmitted as a final complement to two incunabula containing the Postilla by the same French theologian, together with which it is bound ab origine. According to the subscription, the complement was copied in Monselice (Padua), on 31 December 1480, by Iacobus de Roffinis de Monste Sancto, whom, on the basis of precise documentary evidence, the author recognises as the parish priest Icobus de Monte Sancto who, for over twenty years (1457-1481), ruled the Church of San Paolo in Monselice. The essay aims also at pointing out the importance of the library that holds today the volume, and at bringing to light a piece of cultural and literary history referable to the ecclesiastical environment of Padua in the second half of the Fiftheenth Century - dominated by excellent episcopates, from Fantino Dandolo to Jacopo Zeno -, through an artefact that, by combining technological innovation and craftsmanship, defines trajectories of encounter between Le Marche and Monselice.

Abstract
The essay aims also at pointing out the importance of the library that holds today the volume, and at bringing to light a piece of cultural and literary history referable to the ecclesiastical environment of Padua in the second half of the Fiftheenth Century - dominated by excellent episcopates, from Fantino Dandolo to Jacopo Zeno -, through an artefact that, by combining technological innovation and craftsmanship, defines trajectories of encounter between Le Marche and Monselice.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
