In this paper we analyse Fichte’s Der geschloßne Handelsstaat (1800) from the perspective of the political economy and political philosophy. The exploration begins with Fichte’s interpretation of the right to property as a priori in the construction of a rational and socialistic economic equilibrium. The paper also provides an interpretation of Fichte’s «anarchy of the markets» as an expression of ‘market failure’ and of the economic styles as a distinctive characteristic of the German economic tradition.

Abstract
In this paper we analyse Fichte’s Der geschloßne Handelsstaat (1800) from the perspective of the political economy and political philosophy. The exploration begins with Fichte’s interpretation of the right to property as a priori in the construction of a rational and socialistic economic equilibrium. The paper also provides an interpretation of Fichte’s «anarchy of the markets» as an expression of ‘market failure’ and of the economic styles as a distinctive characteristic of the German economic tradition.File in questo prodotto:
