Immanence du surnaturel et paradoxe du naturel

This article aims to consider the supernatural not as the mere opposite of the natural, but as its preeminent expression. The supernatural is not situated beyond the natural ; rather, it exposes the natural itself as a paradox. The natural is a paradox because, in its manifestations, it consistently reveals itself to be more than it appears – through beauty, moral significance, or other qualities that exceed simple appearance of beings. To verify this claim, the article will move beyond the conventional association of the natural and supernatural with transcendence and immanence, which are of ten understood in terms of spatial categories of inside and outside. Central to this investigation will be an analysis of Kant’s notion of concept-less schematism alongside Henri de Lubac’s exploration of the relationship between the supernatural and paradox. The ultimate aim is to demonstrate that the supernatural can be understood as a paradoxical dimension inherent in the natural.
