Landscape and Cultural Heritage in the Face of the Challenge of Climate Change: Reflections and Research Perspectives The contributions presented below are the result of a systematic compilation of the reflections put forward by a number of scholars during a conference held at the University of Macerata in November 2025 on the theme of ‘Cultural heritage and climate change’. The various contributions examine some (among the most significant) perspectives from which it is possible to explore a central issue that has, however, as a whole, received little attention in legal scholarship: environmental vulnerability; the production of renewable energy and its impact on the landscape; the specific regulation of the agricultural landscape in the context of combating climate change; and the governance of planning processes for climate change mitigation and adaptation; the role of communities. The aim is to contribute to the debate by suggesting some possible avenues of research within a general regulatory and conceptual framework outlined in the introduction..
