This study aims to provide a brief overview, or summary, of certain characteristics of the Rota Maceratese, starting from the historiographical data that has been well-established through numerous research and studies. The Rota is situated within the unique historical and institutional context that shaped Macerata and its territory during the 16th century, exploring the role of jurists and judges within the Papal State. Ultimately, we aim to outline the key features of the Rota in terms of judicial practice.
