Based on the paraphrase of Gayatri C. Spivak's classic essay, Can the Subaltern Speak?, the article aims to investigate the possibilities of the emergence of the silenced voices of urban violence in Pablo Montoya's novel La sombra de Orión (2021). Through the investigation of the subjectivities of the victims, the novel tries not to enclose the latter in a homogenizing category and questions, at the same time, the monolithic category of subject referred to the narrator himself. In this way, in the cracks of his torn subjectivity, the voices of the victims find a space for their expression.

Abstract
Based on the paraphrase of Gayatri C. Spivak's classic essay, Can the Subaltern Speak?, the article aims to investigate the possibilities of the emergence of the silenced voices of urban violence in Pablo Montoya's novel La sombra de Orión (2021). Through the investigation of the subjectivities of the victims, the novel tries not to enclose the latter in a homogenizing category and questions, at the same time, the monolithic category of subject referred to the narrator himself. In this way, in the cracks of his torn subjectivity, the voices of the victims find a space for their expression.File in questo prodotto:
