Italian Codice della navigazione and French Code des transports both know shipping contracts: in particular French Code des transports differentiates between «affrètement» and transport, depending on the object of the contract; even in Italian Codice della navigazione there are three types of contracts («locazione», «noleggio» and transport). This article focuses on French legal framework in order to examine if there are similarities and differences referring to Italian legislation.
