This article examines Konstantin Konstantinovich Kuzminsky’s meta-novel Hotel zum Türken in the context of artistic and publishing strategies of the third wave of emigration. In particular, the analysis focuses on the image of “Vienna-Babylon” created by the author through experimentation with multilingualism. Drawing on textual evidences, this article shows how Kuzminsky independently continued (and strengthened) some general trends of the domestic underground of the 1960 and 1970s, such as the fascination with collage as a genre. On the other hand, Kuzminsky’s novel seems to tie in with the discourse about life of Russian emigrants abroad, initiated by a prominent representative of the “forgotten avant-garde” of the beginning of the twentieth century, namely Valentin Parnakh, in his memoirs Pension Maubert. Keywords: underground, third wave of emigration, Russian Vienna, Konstantin Kuzminsky, Valentin Parnakh.
