The article presents a long-term history of the patrimonialisation of the archaeological site of Tiwanaku with a focus on the social relatedness triggered by the ruins. A constant tension between official discourses and indigenous sociability emerges, from colonial times, through the affirmation of the modern nation-state, to the advance of multicultural neoliberalism. The analysis informs the power dynamics that characterise the plurinational state from a cosmopolitical reading of heritage relationships.

Abstract
The article presents a long-term history of the patrimonialisation of the archaeological site of Tiwanaku with a focus on the social relatedness triggered by the ruins. A constant tension between official discourses and indigenous sociability emerges, from colonial times, through the affirmation of the modern nation-state, to the advance of multicultural neoliberalism. The analysis informs the power dynamics that characterise the plurinational state from a cosmopolitical reading of heritage relationships.File in questo prodotto:
