The National Recovery and Resilience Plan has once again placed the issue of guidance at the center of the relationship between schools and universities. The literature on the subject agrees on the fact that guidance can no longer be limited to a circumscribed action but must qualify as an educational activity to be carried out throughout the life of the subject, for which pedagogy as an educational science plays a fundamental role. In the elaboration of an educational conception of guidance, a peculiar and significant place – with particular reference to the Catholic sphere – must be attributed to three scholars of the last century: H. Wallon, A. Gemelli and A. Agazzi. The first laid the foundations of a humanistic vision of guidance, the second recognized guidance in terms of educational need, the third formulated a real pedagogy of guidance.
