Countless studies have been produced on the gaste terre and the complex symbolism of the grail. In our contribution, we will therefore leave the debated issues on the sidelines to focus on the constellation of gaste terre with the intention of isolating some of its constituent traits and verifying their productivity over the long term. From the Middle Ages to Science-Fiction, gaste terre seems to constitute a galaxy of meanings available for continuous resemantization.
