Abstract
Great geographical interest develops around the spatial repercussions induced by the exponential technological evolution; the latter undeniably contributes to overcome distances, which, however, come to amplify in some social and geographical contexts, as the long-standing issue of the digital divide shows. The pandemic acts as an acceleration factor of those processes and encourages the use of cyberspace, with a resulting loss of a full spatial experience which always matches with the enrichment of the lived space. Smart working, dad, fad are just some of the concepts which have irrupted in the public and scientific debate. Geography is therefore faced to an altered perception of the space, owed to the use of devices and apps able to satisfy the needs imposed by the containment measures of the pandemic as well as, on the other hand, the orientation and social stimuli. One of the critical points connected to the "awakening" from the lockdown is the recovery of the increasingly lethargic spatiality, also caused by technological devices, especially during the developmental age. The fruition of open spaces, as well as direct encounters, are forbidden prerogatives resulting from the health crisis and aiming to enhance suistable structures for the distancing. In the relationship between the urban and the rural, along with the functionality of city parks, it is remarked an increase of the design activity based on the construction of natural ephemeral architectures which are often seasonal, for instance theatres with "natural fifths", mazes, sport halls, and multifunctional structures; ideas that converge in the "vegetecture". Those structures have been redesigned from North America to Italy with a view to responding to the needs of didactic pratices and to strenghten, through the loisir, a direct confrontation with spatiality.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
