The anathema of the Corcyreans at Dodona was a peculiar dedication consisting of two paired pillars, on the top of which a boy holding a knucklebones whip and a bronze cauldron stand. No trace of the monument survives, but through the analysis of the literary evidence and the cultural frame, this paper reads it as a multidimensional offering, which combined iconography and sound, meant to convey the visual and acoustic representation of a rite of passage involving the young Corcyrean élite.

Abstract
The anathema of the Corcyreans at Dodona was a peculiar dedication consisting of two paired pillars, on the top of which a boy holding a knucklebones whip and a bronze cauldron stand. No trace of the monument survives, but through the analysis of the literary evidence and the cultural frame, this paper reads it as a multidimensional offering, which combined iconography and sound, meant to convey the visual and acoustic representation of a rite of passage involving the young Corcyrean élite.File in questo prodotto:
