The paper examines gender and relational issues in the amorous and family context in "Tre donne. Una storia d’amore e disamore" of Dacia Maraini. Through mythological and literary antecedents, the author analyzes with a lively irony the male / female relationship, the mother-daughter bond, the generational conflict, the female genealogy, the sentimental ambivalence and she interprets the archetypes of the Feminine and the Great Mother, the antithesis life / death, the double, the birth, the female identity. The critical analysis, which also recognizes autobiographical motifs, makes use of psychoanalytic, psychological, theoretical and literary references.
