El imaginario turístico, junto con las tipologías textuales que lo sustentan, ha sido un intertexto fundamental que, en primer lugar, ha forjado en la obra literaria de Julio Cortázar una idiosincrásica ‘poética de la mirada’ que traduce la búsqueda del genius loci de las ciudades que este escritor visitó entre los años 1950-1954, en sus viajes culturales a Italia, siguiendo la tradición de los viajes de grandes escritores, a partir del Grand Tour, a este país. En segundo lugar, su rechazo o atribución de nuevos significados a determinadas formas de discurso turístico, rastreables en sus escritos, lo llevaron a privilegiar en su obra un tiempo ‘estético’, en contraposición con el tiempo de consumo turístico de las ciudades o sitios de interés artístico que visitó en Italia. En este artículo nos detendremos, por tanto, a analizar desde una perspectiva semiótica, algunos de los procedimientos de intertextualización más significativos de dicho imaginario en los textos que se encuentran vinculados con los viajes que realizó el escritor argentino a Italia en el período mencionado. The tourist imaginary, together with the textual typologies that support it, have been a fundamental intertext that, in the first place, has forged in the literary work of Julio Cortázar an idiosyncratic ‘poetic of the gaze’ that translates the search of the genius loci of the cities that this writer visited between the years 1950-1954, in his cultural trips to Italy, following the tradition of the travel of great writers, from the Grand Tour, to this country. Secondly, his rejection or attribution of new meanings to certain forms of tourist discourse, traceables in his writings led him to value in his work an ‘aesthetic’ time, as opposed to the time of tourist consumption of the cities or sites of artistic interest he visited. in Italy. In this paper we will stop, therefore, to analyze from a semiotic perspective, some of the most significant intertextualization procedures of this imaginary in those texts related to the trips made by the Argentine writer in Italy in the mentioned period.
