The recent publication of the “numbers of the #museitaliani”, has rekindled the debate concerning the evaluation criteria for museums, starting from the utility of relating the increase in visitors with improvements in management. The topics of this paper are what kind of quality indicators we have, and what is the state of the art about the application of minimum requirements. After a brief excursus on the introduction of the minimum levels in Italian museums until the recent adoption of the “Livelli Uniformi di Qualità”, the ISTAT-MiBACT database, core of the integrated information system of Italian museums, will be analyzed. By querying those data, searching for museums with the minimum requirements and extracting information to focus possible strategies for data use, an evaluation method it is proposed, capable to interact with the cycle of the performance of the Italian Public Administration, with the accreditation scheme for National Museum System, and with the various museum audiences.

By querying those data, searching for museums with the minimum requirements and extracting information to focus possible strategies for data use, an evaluation method it is proposed, capable to interact with the cycle of the performance of the Italian Public Administration, with the accreditation scheme for National Museum System, and with the various museum audiences.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
