The article aims to examine some archival concepts, such as order, time and space in the light of statements from physical science. In particular, it reflects on the archival order and on its dynamism, underlining how a series of external actions contribute over time and space toredefine the archive. The impact of the RICstandard onarchival description models and on the possibility of integrating them within intercultural systems where the term context takes on widermeanings is also assessed.
