Les échecs de la compréhension

What is the destiny of the hermeneutics after the time Jean Greisch called “l’âge herméneutique de la raison” ? Would it be a discipline whose moment has now ended or would it still have potentialities to deploy ? The aim of this paper is answer to these questions. We will do it 1- approaching the comprehension in light of its failures and 2- reading authors who are not part of the hermeneutical tradition (Jean Nabert, Albert Camus, Kierkegaard). Therefore, at first, we will start from the Nabertian failure showing the inequality of the Ego in regards to himself, and next, in order to grasp where our hermeneutical and interpretative condition is rooted, we will place the comprehension between love and polemic. We place it between these two poles because they are able to show us that our inequality to ourselves is the mark of the Other that gives us to remain à jamais “between”. This Other of our existential condition that always obliges us to pass. This Other through which failure is the mark of the incomprehensible fruitfulness of comprehension.
