The paper presents a review of the literature produced over the last 10 years (2010-2019) on the use of robotics to develop social skills in the autism spectrum syndrome. The purpose of the analysis is to identify scientific evidence that, starting from the studies carried out on human-robot interaction [1, 2, 3, 4] in general, and on the interaction person with autism-robot specifically [5,76], they can help to understand if and how social robots can be used to support people with autism in the development of the Theory of Mind (ToM), by highlighting their potential and critical issues. In this perspective, the analysis of 35 significant contributions is presented, related to each other, to derive useful reflections in the preparation of future intervention protocols.
