The European research and innovation policies support the development of innovative technologies to address several key Societal Challenges (SC)1 in order to turn Europe into an inclusive, accessible and integrating region with sustainable and solid economic environment. The European leadership in technologies oriented towards SC such as demographic change, environment, green energy, liveable spaces and transport, represents an important competitive advantage and great market opportunity. Pursuing this transformation, the EC brought forward the approach of Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI). This framework inside Horizon 2020 has a transformational meaning implementing a very inclusive approach to the relationship between science and society with excellence and social commitment.
