Lessico dei termini greci di colore: progetto e linee di ricerca

The rich bibliography on the classification and naming of colours in Greek and other languages demonstrates the continued interest for the subject that dates back to the 19th century. With the emergence of new studies and stimulating acquisitions in an ever growing number of research fields, the investigation into the particular problems of Greek colour terminology is in need of broadening. Due consideration should be given to the complex system of interrelationships, structured on various levels (perceptual, cognitive, socio-cultural and communicative), in which colour (or colours) is both an element and an expression. Hence the requirement for a lexicon dedicated specifically to colour terms, which could be a starting point for the deepening of aspects related to their formation and their dynamic function in various contexts and communicative events.
