The article describes the legal proceedings related to the many requests for extradition in Italy of Cesare Battisti, a case that involved the French jurisdictions, the European Court of Human Rights and the Brazilian Authorities. In a constitutional perspective, the essay shows the framework of the guarantees applied by the Italian judges in the proceedings that led to sentencing, demonstrating that Italy maintained all the characteristics of rule of law, even in the difficult phase of the fight against domestic terrorism
