How passionate are you about culture? was the question asked of potential focus group participants in four cities across Europe in order to recruit members to the User and Functional Testing sessions of Europeana v1.0. Their answers to this question and to the many others which the functional testing of Europeana raised throughout the course of the focus groups are to be found within the pages of the following report and are elaborated on in extensive detail in its accompanying appendices: both the innovations of Europeana v1.0 that were warmly met and those that were only coolly received. In service to Europeana stakeholders and to those end users whose participation made this process possible, this report attempts to draw focus on key areas of need, expectation and assumption expressed and observed during the testing.
