The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between personality characteristics (i.e., extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, and openness to experience) and holiday motivations (i.e., relax, new experiences, comfort, familiarity, sport, social prestige).. Participants were 429 university students aged between 19 and 29 years. Main findings indicated meaningful associations between personality dimensions and holiday motivations. In particular, openness to experience was the personality dimension more strongly related to the factors underlying holiday choices.
