A Phenomenological Multifocal Approach to Learning and Knowledge Environments: Meaningful and Performing Libraries in a Changing World

In a normative tone, I contend that a building should create an environment that enhances sensory engagement and mental well-being, while avoiding sensory detachment and alienation that can weaken ties to cultural order and collective meanings. My advocacy for a holistic understanding of lybraries - and buildings in general - culminates in my analysis of the war-destroyed National Library in Sarajevo, targeted by Serbian forces due to its significance for Bosnian identity.
