Pròsopon: il teatro greco antico come scrittura del corpo e dell’azione

The purpose of the article is to advance a hypothesis about the role Greek drama can play in a didactics centered on the semiotic space of the person (in Greek πρόσωπον). Attic drama, which flourished in the fifth/fourth centuries BCE, enabled the content of traditional myths to be translated into language suitable for representation. To do so, it enhanced the expressive resources of the available languages, hooking the plot of the story to the actor's body, his mask/face and, above all, rewriting the myth in the form of an articulated gestural communication, in which the anaphoric component dialogues with the deictic one through the centrality of the πρόσωπον. From here, from the theater and its "écritures du corps", through the contribution of Greek Patristics, began the path that allowed the development of the modern notion of 'person'.
