The METCLIL corpus is an English corpus containing nine EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) seminars dealing with marketing and Business administration topics at six European Higher Institutions belonging to six different countries (Spain, Portugal, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway). The corpus was created within the project ‘METCLIL – Metaphor in Academic Talk: L2 metaphor production in Higher Education CLIL discussion Seminars’. This is the first version of the corpus, which only includes the transcription of the seminars. In later versions, it is planned to add the annotation of metaphorical language uses, identified by mostly following the MIPVU procedure (Steen, G.J., Dorst, A.G., Herrmann, J.B., Kaal, A.A., Krennmayr, T. & Pasma, T. (2010). A method for linguistic metaphor identification. From MIP to MIPVU. Amsterdam: John Benjamins.) with some adaptations to the context of our corpus.
