The main purpose of this paper is to correct a one-sided reading of the role played by technology in Kuhn's philosophy of science. Kuhn's neglect of tech¬nology is not as exclusive as has usually been assumed, and there is in Kuhn also a tendency to acknowledge both the hermeneutical and the technological dimension of scientific development, a tendency which is closely connected with the fundamental assumptions of the philosophy of the late Wittgenstein. From this point of view, we may interpret Kuhn's philosophy of science as a first step in the direction toward introducing hermeneutics into the under¬standing of technology.
