Abstract

A new transcription method with standard semiography synchronized with the audio source, whose reliability can be scientifically checked by playback cursor in computerized performance is presented here. This type of transcription, in addition to identifying itself as an innovative contribution within the methodology of performance studies, when applied to aleatory or "open" works, as in the case of Luciano Berio's "Sequenza I for solo flute," opens up novel analytical and heuristic perspectives.
