“Performance Poetry: A Tactile-Kinesthetic Poiesis” is an intermedial and interdisciplinary understanding of performance poetry. The analysis of the relationship between poetry and performance highlights how performance is a medium for the delivery of the poem as well as an intrinsic characteristic of both the writing process and the poetic genre. The performative element allows to overcome the textual centrism of western poetic tradition and champions an understanding of performance poetry as a postmodern ethnographic text, in which orality, literacy, and performance are three aspects of the poetic textuality. The idea of text as a process that can manifests itself in many ways and forms, opens the discourse to a study of the role of the body in every phase of the creative process. Such a recovery of the body in the poetic discourse, coupled with the notion of postmodern ethnographic text, reframes performance poetry, and poetry in general, as an open, dynamic, and polymorphous system.

Abstract
Such a recovery of the body in the poetic discourse, coupled with the notion of postmodern ethnographic text, reframes performance poetry, and poetry in general, as an open, dynamic, and polymorphous system.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
