The research intends to lay the foundations for a dialogue between New Cognitive Sciences (the so-called Embodied Cognition or EC) and Didactics, a dialogue which, even in the light of the current tumultuous development of neurosciences, is expected to increasingly take on a leading role in the redefinition of boundaries of the Education Sciences. For the centrality that verbal language plays in our school's teaching practices, from a theoretical point of view we focused on those research carried out in the embodied field that highlight the rooting of language in the agent body and in particular on the thesis of language as action, or the basic thesis of a specific embodied theory of language, socio-corporeal theory. Our goal was to focus the attention of researchers and teachers on the role that the agent body also plays in those teaching-learning processes that, being mainly mediated by language, do not seem to imply it. On this awareness the experimental research presented in the last chapter was developed. The research is in continuity with an experiment already started within the research group coordinated by my Tutor on the subject of the involvement of the agent body in the teaching-learning processes and stems from the idea of monitoring the energy consumption of a teacher involved in educational activities characterized by the prevalent use of the word. The instrument used is the Armband SenseWear, a multisensor which, when worn as a band on the triceps of the dominant arm, allows a continuous sampling of some physiological variables including energy expenditure. The collection and classification of data is divided into two phases, distinct from a chronological and methodological point of view, but parallel on a logical level. During the lesson the teacher wears the SenseWear Armband and is videotaped. The data on its energy consumption are subsequently compared with the teacher's actions in those phases of the lesson characterized by the prevalent use of the word. The objective of the experimentation is to investigate if there is a relationship between the latter and the variations in the data on the energy consumption of his body.

Abstract
The objective of the experimentation is to investigate if there is a relationship between the latter and the variations in the data on the energy consumption of his body.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
