Abstract

One of the main pillars of the New Normal phase is the so-called Green Revolution, which is making China one of the most active players and contributors to the 21st century environmental protection global challenge. Massive investments in green technologies and environmental restoration are ensured and supported by a deep re-visitation of the related policies, legal frameworks and institutional patterns. While China is becoming the world largest investor in environmental protection, the quest for high-end technologies is turning into a big opportunity for western companies, which can leverage their higher capability in this sector. The increased attention to the quality of life for a wide portion of Chinese citizens and the re-shaping of the country’s industrial landscape have created business opportunities for foreign firms, even in the agriculture and food sector. Foreign firms can leverage their advanced know-how and technologies with a decisive competitive advantage
