Massive investments in green technologies and environmental restoration are ensured and supported by a deep re-visitation of the related policies, legal frameworks and institutional patterns. While China is becoming the world largest investor in environmental protection, the quest for high-end technologies is turning into a big opportunity for western companies, which can leverage their higher capability in this sector. The increased attention to the quality of life for a wide portion of Chinese citizens and the re-shaping of the country’s industrial landscape have created business opportunities for foreign firms, even in the agriculture and food sector.
