Could we identify any changes in the EC public opinion surveys in the gender mainstreaming perspectives? Is there any political influence on the dataset topics? How this potential parallelism influenced the changes regarding Eu citizens (selection of 15 countries) distinguished by sex and age cohorts. If so, in which forms did this change take place? To what extent did it affect the item wording and/or the content investigated? And has the change over time in Europeans’ gender beliefs, been somehow influenced by the overall EC gender mainstreaming perspective (of course, among other modernization processes)? Do the new questions/item wording increase or reduce the bias in gender equality measures? In other words: do countries immediately show increased or reduced support for gender equality as the new questions are introduced? The level of support of gender equality in each country is in line with those shown from other surveys in the same year? Theprojectsit will provide a setting in which important variables can be analysed and controlled overtime. The focus will be on Eurobarometer to detect any change related to the legislative development of the gender mainstreaming perspective, evolution of political agenda, and directives (the last agenda is the Horizon 2020 program and this will be also evaluate) . Contents under investigations are related to the gender inequality, working women, political leadership, and gender policies. I will start exploring the Eurobarometer surveys (from 1975 EB3 till 2016).
