The aim of the present activity research is to test and apply a new methodology for reconstructing a more realistic welfare distribution in Sub-Saharan Africa, and then measuring inequality more accurately. Briefly, the idea is to merge the information coming from the consumption and income data into a unique distribution. In other words, since the distributional analysis on income or consumption expenditures data, for distinct reasons, either underestimates or creates biases in evaluating inequality, a new distribution that includes the not-biased segments of the two distributions has to be produced.
