The common denominator of the Research Project is the presentation of national particularities and patterns of similarity in school education during periods of political transition, with a strong emphasis on: (1) political socialization; (2) the evolution of education for citizenship in dictatorships and democratic societies; (3) the survival of material cultures, educational practices, and didactic methodologies typical of schooling under totalitarian/authoritarian regimes, in democracies.
