The project will (1) collect data on past and present institutional practices involving cultural learning around heritage in a number of European member states; (2) establish a critical typology of such practices and an analytical matrix around them to enable comparative analysis and dialogue beyond national borders; (3) explore and assess cultural learning activities and how they are experienced on all levels, from the formal to the informal, from the local to the regional, and the national to the European; (4) contribute to new means of expression, narratives and genres to convey, appreciate, foster and share European heritage under changing conditions across diverse publics and cultural markets; (5) encourage inclusive participation and community engagement; (6) allow for continuous process- and dialogue-oriented reappraisal of national histories in tune with European values and imaginaries of past and present; and finally (7) produce action-oriented and policy-inspiring models of innovative praxis around cultural learning in relation to heritage, and develop recommendations for relevant stakeholders on all levels.
