Realtà e mimesi nello “specchio dell’Italia”. Geografia e paesaggi letterari delle Marche

Literary texts’ capabilities to make explicit the territorial structures are here tested with an attempt to go beyond the documentary level, trying to reach an interpretation that, together with the material features, would also take account of landscape’s deepest spiritual environments. This paper focuses on Marche region, using both prose and poetry texts. The research aim is to proceed toward a contextualization of landscape’s evolution, starting from the analysis concerning the modifications of economic, demographic, and town-countryside relationships that can be observed in the region called the “mirror of Italy”.
