The project is a new version of EVIRTUS project submitted in 2011. The aim of the project is to exploit the competences – that each partner has developed in giving evidence of, and representing the changes in educational practices for the nation building which occurred between the XIX and the XX centuries – in order to apply, those same competences, to the analysis of the school of the recent past – i.e. the school in which the process of Europeanization has become more and more important every day as well as the need to educate for a new citizenship, that is European citizenship. In essence, the project partners will work, on the one hand, in order to transform the objects and documents preserved in their museums into teaching-learning tools; on the other hand, they will take a census of the materials which the schools have produced for projects of European citizenship education in the last twenty years. On the base of these materials, new effective learning paths will be implemented within the expected virtual Museum of European Education (MUSES), specifically aimed at promoting a new sense of European citizenship in school environment.
