Some methodological and conceptual aspects are examined with the aim to explore and define the category of so-called “scholastic cultural goods” – the object of study by contemporary historical-educational research, in Italy and abroad as well – especially with regard to the manifold issues that a systematic and correct (i.e. rigorous and scientifically-based) description of such peculiar and very heterogeneous objects involve as a necessary condition for their conservation and enhancement.
