Practical difficulties with the European Qualifications Framework have emerged particularly in the validation of non formal and informal learning. In the specific sector of landscape and urban planning and risk prevention, adults who want to receive a recognition of non-formal and informal learning in order to access to formal learning in the higher educational system or in the labour market itself meet many obstacles. Project wants to compare and analyse national systems form different countries for the documentation of adults’ non-formal and informal learning, with legitimacy in both the workplace and the education system in the sector of: 1-landscape and urban planning 2-risk prevention. The general objective is to achieve an European approach based on learning EQF outcomes able to promote the validation of non-formal and informal learning in accordance with the common European principles agreed in the Council conclusions of 28 May 2004. An approach could help increase in this specific sector: 1- participation in lifelong learning of workers and people out of work 2-mobility and flexibility to the labour market. The implementation of a system which gives adults -surveyors, architects, geologists, employees in the urban planning sector- the right to document their non-formal and informal learning without having to undergo traditional forms of testing will be implemented. Emphasis is placed on the validation of non-formal learning in respect of upper secondary education and higher education . The benefits to individuals in respect of their working lives, organisational activities and the education system are central issues. Core Objectives: To develop a strong network of national and European experts for the transfer and development of innovation, and integrated European solutions to identify, assess and recognize non formal and informal learning in the sector and to create a permanently updated European Observatory on validation of non formal and informal learning. Abstract
