Figure femminili classiche nella poesia di Fadwà Tuqan, tra conformità e trasgressione

Several trends and influences combine in the poetry of the Palestinian author Fadwà Tuqan (1917-2003). Her first collections show how she adheres to the trends of the classical Arabic tradition, both in forms and subjects; the author then gradually commits herself towards new structures, and political themes. This essay focuses on the presence and persistence of issues related to classical literature in Fadwà Tuqan’s poetry, both in her early works and, reelaborated in a symbolic and sometimes provocative way, in her following production.
