The main aim of our project is to create, from an interdisciplinary and transnational approach, scientific instruments to better identify, protect and promote these European ways. The proposal objectives are: a) to cooperate to the digitalization of the knowledge of the routes and their cultural heritage in their intangible and tangible dimensions; b) to evaluate the use of the routes (in local and touristic terms and not only); c) to create a networking to signalize, interpret and promote the cultural values of these routes; d) to analyze the governance systems (public – private relations) of these pilgrimage ways. The relevance of this project to the Heritage Plus is their contribution to the safeguard of one of the master’s symbols of European identity. The impacts expect of the project are a more attention to the tangible routes of pilgrimage that crossed Europe, and the improvement of the national and international governance of these routes.
