Based on the experience of the first school (Budapest, 2012), the Summer School on Policies and Practices in Access to Digital Archives 2013 is built around the concept of the life-cycle of the digital objects in the current hybrid archival background. It aims to provide a better attendance chance to young participants, particularly from Central and Eastern European countries. The ADA 2013 course is intended to serve as a bridge between archival students, archivists, curators, researchers, legal experts and policymakers whose work deals with digital records, cultural heritage collections and/or open data. One of the broad purposes of the course is launching an itinerary to reform the political and statutory landscape by uniting the efforts of key stakeholders. Supported by Central European Initiative, Open Soctiey Foundation and FGCAD post-degree Master, the ADA 2013 Summer School will be co-directed by Gabriella Ivacs and Milena Dobreva and will rely on an international faculty, composed by 12 well-known experts. In 2013 the ADA Summer School, directed by Pierluigi Feliciati, is held by the University of Macerata from 26 August to 3 September and hosted 25 participants from Central-Eastern Europe, Italy, Malta and the Sultanate of Oman.
