The book takes into account the construction and modification of knowledge over the time in relation to human action and education sciences, focusing on formation and personal growth. The author calls attention to the characteristics of the contemporary knowledge society that can be found in the widespread economic globalization accelerated by new network technologies, in a brisk renewal of knowledge and practices, in the set of beliefs, convictions, opinions with which we live and organize our behavior . The knowledge thus defined is today more important than ever, to the point that modern society is often described just as the knowledge society.
